How do you feel now that the draft process is over and you know where you’re going?
The time between the last game and the draft is tough. You don’t have any idea where you’re going to live and you’re going off to train. But, it feels really good to be done with everything and know where I’m going to end up. I’m really looking forward to having the opportunity to play in Cincinnati.

Where were you for the draft?
We had some family come out to Burnett where my grandparents live. We cooked out, had a bunch of ribs, chicken. We just hung out, fished, picked around on the guitar a little bit. Fortunately, we got that call last night, so it was a lot of fun.

What do you know about the Bengals’ offense?
I’m looking forward to having the opportunity to play with some great receivers, Chad Ochocinco, Antonio Bryant, and to be up there with Quan. That will be really fun. They also have Carson Palmer, so I’ll be looking forward to playing with a quarterback like that. I’ve been fortunate to play with some really good quarterbacks, going from Colt (McCoy), and Carson Palmer is as good as anybody.

Did you have much interaction with Cincinnati prior to the draft?
I had been hearing the whole time that a lot of times teams will take you that really haven’t talked to you much, if they don’t have any character issues with you, because they don’t want anybody to know that they’re interested. I really hadn’t talked to them. I visited with them at the combine, but other than that, I hadn’t talked to them since then. With Quan (Cosby) being up there, he’s told me it’s a great place.

Have you talked to Quan?
He sent me a text message last night to congratulate me. I sent him one back and I’ll probably call him here in a little while and see what he’s up to.

Did you know Chad Ochocinco was Tweeting about you?
I didn’t know Chad was getting on me on Twitter. I found out today that I have a fake twitter page, so we’re working on getting that taken down. But, to Chad, ‘I can’t wait to get up there, get some McDonald’s with you and learn from one of the best.’

Roddrick Muckelroy was just taken by the Bengals also, did you realize that?
I’m not around a TV so I didn’t know that. I think Roddrick is one of the best defensive players I’ve ever played with. I think it’s going to be really fun to have him around. He’s a great guy. That will be great for us to get to play together again and we’ll have a whole lot of fun up there. It will be nice to have some familiar faces.

How do you feel Texas prepared you for all of this?
It’s such a great place to play college football. You get prepared for playing in big games and pressure situations. In my time there, we’ve been in really good bowl games so the football experience is great. But, you also get experience with the media and TV and all the other things that come along with being a player at Texas. It was a great experience and a great family.

Anything you’d like to say to the people who’ve helped you?
First and foremost, I want to thank God for having the opportunity to play football at the next level. I want to thank all the coaches, family and fans that have been there for me along the way. I’m just looking forward to taking the next step.
