Mack Brown calls for Longhorn fans to come early, be loud and stay late

Before losing a shocking 34-12 to UCLA a few weeks ago, the Longhorns had a 16-home game winning streak. The last time Texas had lost at home was against Kansas State in 2007.
This weekend, the Longhorns play Iowa State at home at 11 a.m. Mack Brown understands the game is early, but he is encouraging Texas fans to come to the game because the team needs their fans.
“We need our fans to come back and help us get our streak started again,” Brown said. “Fans, in my estimation, can have the biggest impact on this team more than with any team we’ve had in 13 years because five of our last six [games] are home games.
“We need our fans. This team needs their fans. Some of our teams have not, but this team needs our fans. The game is early and it’s tougher for students to get up and get moving on a Saturday morning, but we need people there, we need them attentive, we need them ready to play so we can have our fans make a huge difference in our team’s performance for the last five weeks we have at home.
“I think that’s very, very important for us to regain that advantage.”
