Longhorn Network Weekly Programming Update: Priest Holmes and Joey Harrington to Join Texas GameDay On-Air Team; Longhorn Extra to Feature Coach Augie Garrido
Longhorn Network, the new 24/7 University of Texas channel, launched last Friday, Aug. 26 at 6 p.m. from the South Mall on the UT campus.
Longhorn Network has announced that Joey Harrington and Priest Holmes have joined the Texas GameDay on-air team. Texas GameDay is live for two hours of pre-game for every UT football game. Debut will be this Saturday, Sept. 3 before the Texas vs. Rice game, exclusively on Longhorn Network.
At 10 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1* on Longhorn Extra, a feature will run titled Home Plate with Augie Garrido. UT’s legendary baseball coach will pay a visit to one of his favorite Austin chefs. This feature will be the first in a recurring series with Coach Garrido.
Programming Highlights (8/30 – 9/3):
Texas GameDay features for Rice – Sept. 3, beginning at 5 p.m.
Blaine Irby – Tight end who blew out his knee in 2008 game vs. Rice will discuss making a comeback after missing two seasons.
Coach Bryan Harsin – The new offensive coordinator comes from a family of drag racers.
Longhorn Extra highlights – live, weeknights at 10 p.m.

Marquise Goodwin – The wide receiver is sitting out the football season to pursue an Olympic berth in the long jump. Scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 1.*

Sport Science Extreme Heat – As Austin sets all-time heat records, Sport Science breaks down how it affects athletes’ performances. Scheduled for Friday, Sept. 2.*
Texas All-Access – airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m.
Part two debuts this Wednesday, Aug. 31. The episode will cover the Longhorn Olympics, a unique team building exercise, and concludes with the inside story on the decision of the starting quarterback.
