Longhorns safety Christian Scott was suspended Monday after he was arrested on a Class A misdemeanor assault with bodily injury charge, and was being held in the Travis County Jail. Scott, a senior from Dallas, was arrested at approximately 1 p.m. in the 300 block of East Yager Lane.
He has started 10 games in his Texas Longhorns career at the University of Texas. Scott had 53 tackles, two forced fumbles, one interception and one pass breakup in 2010.
“We’ve talked to Christian and his family, and he has been suspended from all activities with our football team,” coach Mack Brown said in a statement. “Following the completion of the legal process, we will do what’s best for the university, Christian and the team.”
