Mack’s 2011 Season
By Randy Maltz – Founder/Editor Silver and Blue Report & Hook’em Report
The Texas Longhorns have to build off that win over California. They have plenty of talent already there, with more on the way.
They have two young, bright minds heading the offense and defense. There will also be turnover in the Big 12 next year at Oklahoma State and Oklahoma, so Texas should at least compete for another conference title. Now, if they can only get that QB position taken care of …
Brown was willing to make drastic changes after last year’s 2010 disaster. Perhaps … those changes are beginning to reap dividends. I hear that there are contract extension discussions between Mack Brown and University of Texas. Mack’s teams have gone 12-12 in the past 24 months, and looked horrible at times this season, the idea of an extension sound a little strange to me. Well, it’s very hard to be patient when your head coach is pulling in a $5 million salary, when your program is built on success. For Texas Football, increasing your wins from 5 to 8, is a big achievement after watching the 2010 season. Now, the expectations are only going to get higher. Count on it!
