ESPN fully committed to Longhorn Network

The Longhorn Network was launched in August and will bring the University of Texas $300 million over 20 years.
ESPN has been unable to come to contractual agreements with any large-scale cable carriers or satellite companies to show the Longhorn Network.
Burke Magnus, ESPN vice president in charge of college sports programming, stated, “Disappointed is not the right word. Texas has been a great partner and has been very patient. There’s no question we’re committed to it. We’re going to take stock of where we are and figure out what the keys are necessary to unlock it. As soon as we get the first deal (with a national distributor), I think it will take off and snowball.”
