The University of Texas had their UT Pro Day on Tuesday. There were personnel from at least 30 teams and 50 scouts, including head coaches and general managers.
There is definitely not many guarantied NFL stars who will be working out at Denius Field today. No Longhorns player is projected to go very early in the draft. Gil Brandt was hanging around Texas Longhorns head coach, Mack Brown. Also in attendance were Chicago Bears head coach Lovie Smith and Pittsburgh Steelers scout “Mean” Joe Greene.
There is a very good chance that the first Longhorn selected in the draft will be Keenan Robinson. He went through all of the drills for the second time and improving his numbers. Linebacker Emmanuel Acho did not participate in any of the tests. He still has a sore quad. His brother, Sam Acho was in attendance, along with WR Jordan Shipley, supporting their fellow Longhorns. Safeties Christian Scott and Blake Gideon displayed good all-around athleticism for the 2012 NFL draft.
Fozzy Whittaker gave his heart and soul to the Longhorns, before being injured in the Missouri game. He will be working out again, but will not be a highly sought-after NFL player.
