Let’s here it for Justin Tucker, the former Texas Longhorns kicker! In a shocking move, the Baltimore Ravens cut former Pro Bowl kicker Billy Cundiff, Hook ‘em Report confirms.
With the odds stacked against him, undrafted free agent rookie Justin Tucker outperformed Cundiff in the preseason. By releasing Cundiff, the Ravens will save $1.81 million this season, according to Ravens Insider. Cundiff made the Pro Bowl in 2010. Ravens fans probably won’t forget Cundiff’s missed 32-yard field goal, which could have resulted in overtime for the 2011 AFC title game between Baltimore and the Patriots.
Cundiff was outperformed by rookie Justin Tucker throughout training camp and during the preseason. Writing was on the wall, a few days ago, when the Ravens decided Tucker would get all the kicks against the Jaguars. Congratulations, Justin!
